Tim Neville Arboretum Playground
Project Overview
Yellowstone Landscaping was selected to complete the Tim Neville Arboretum Playground for Knox City Council, marking another exciting engagement in this area following our work on the nearby Tim Neville War Memorial Park.
The updated playspace features a community swing triple frame set with an accessible harness seat swing, an accessible carousel, an embankment slide, and a new drawbridge with large timbers and heavy chain embellishments at the castle entry. Retained play items such as the dragon body and tail, mirror, and spinning pole were reinstalled in the new layout, alongside existing features like the climbing spider structure and flying fox.
Nature play elements include a water log channel, water pump, sand table, and a baby dragon sculpture with a water spout, sparking children’s imaginations as they explore a mystical wonderland.
Additional natural features like timber log steppers, balance beams, and mudstone boulders further enhance the enchanting play experience. The playspace also includes new shade sails, Auslan signs, and bench seats, with additional plantings of trees, bamboo, and garden beds. Yellowstone Landscaping is committed to preserving existing trees as focal points throughout the project and has prioritized addressing drainage issues with appropriate solutions.
The design includes wheelchair-accessible ramps and wider paths to maximize accessibility across the playground. This highly anticipated playspace renewal will offer an inclusive environment for the community to enjoy.
